Introducing Stopgap 700 Superflex...3rd June 2010

Utilising recent advances in cement technology, F. Ball are pleased to announce the launch of Stopgap 700 Superflex. Designed to offer improved flexibility, superior crack resistance and an earlier walk-on time, Stopgap 700 Superflex offers extended working times and has excellent self-levelling properties.
A fibre-reinforced, water-mix smoothing underlayment, Superflex now incorporates a new fibre, optimising the integrity of the installation and delivering a smooth and durable subfloor surface.
Superflex is suitable for use on plywood, steel and raised access subfloors prior to the installation of new floor coverings. The smoothing underlayment can also be used to encapsulate underfloor heating systems over plywood.
Offering fast drying times, new Superflex is ideal for fast-track installations. Suitable for absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces, the reformulated smoothing underlayment allows resilient floorcoverings to be installed in as little as three hours.
The new lower density, lightweight formulation enables Superflex to be packaged in 20 kg bags, as well as offering an increased coverage rate over the existing 22 kg bag. The new formulation also has a distinctive beige appearance.
Complying with standards of the International Marine Organisation, Superflex has been approved for use in marine floor installations by Det Norske Veritas. The smoothing underlayment is also EMICODE EC1 compliant and CE marked, indicating its quality, safety and conformity with European requirements.
Stephen Boulton, Technical Service Manager at F. Ball and Co. Ltd. explains: “New Stopgap 700 Superflex demonstrates our commitment to developing and manufacturing subfloor preparation products of the highest quality. The reformulation utilises the latest advancements in cement and binding technology. Superflex offers enhanced flexibility and its improved lightweight formulation facilitates easier manual handling.”
